Overhead Crane Manufacturing

35 ton main hoist with 8 ton auxiliary hoist on outboard monorail

  • Designed to Canada’s highest structural, electrical, and mechanical specifications
  • 8-tonne auxiliary hoist installed on an outboard monorail
  • Unique design allows functionality and hook approaches not typically achieved

Project Scope

This highly customized overhead crane features a 35-tonne top running double girder arrangement.

Overhead Crane Manufacturing

Explosion proof monorail hoist

Operating in an extremely tough environment, design considerations included:
  • Outdoor coastal environment
  • High winds
  • Cold weather
  • Classified electrical zone

Project Scope

Designed for maintenance of
LNG tanks, this articulating hoist includes a variable radius S-shaped monorail—the first of its kind to receive CSA certification for usage in Canada.

Overhead Crane Manufacturing

Automated drilling rig,
explosion-proof tandem cranes

  • Nestable interlocking structure
  • Plumbing and flow control on energy chain arrangements
  • Quick connecting hoist and trolleys provide robust functionality in the field

Project Scope

This hydraulic-powered set of two bridge cranes features two 18-tonne hoists per bridge. Electrical radio controls for hazardous locations allow functionality and tandem lifting to 72-tonne capacity.

Overhead Crane Maintenance

Coating and painting business

Our client had a production hoist that was key to their process. The hoist went down with a damaged motor, which had a several month lead time and a $10,000+ cost.

We oriented the hoist on a custom-built ultra-low headroom trolley. Our service technicians took the hoist down and used an existing stock hoist, modified and engineered a new trolley, and had the hoist reinstalled within a few days.

Overhead Crane Maintenance

BC-based wood processing business

Our client was looking to replace existing equipment nearing the end of its lifecycle; but the facility had an extremely short shutdown window.

We built a new bridge panel and full cable and control package for the system, replacing everything except the structure. We also included three custom-gauged top-running double girder hoists to be installed on a single bridge.

The radio system allowed any combination of the three hoists to lift with a summary display of the mass. All electrical was quick connect, so the project could be completed seamlessly in the short shutdown window.
